This could well be the ANSWER for us!!!

I am always amazed at Moms who have the gall to say, "I just don't DO for my kids. They learn pretty fast to do for themselves. Clearly their children were born from a different planet than my T! As were my younger two ... who are happy to do chores, OR special projects!

I will give this a try ...

Good job mama!
I think our kiddos could become great lawyers! If their convictions on life rules are set in..then its impossible to reversing that! Everyday is a debate about something it seems:) I try to look at every thing as a learning opportunity for my daughter..she is stubborn and rigidness is really coming in..sigh!
I have a long ways to go in the chore dept. too...I am always looking and thinking about her future but make things way too simple for her and I need to stop. She is 8 1/2 and I still compensate and help her on many things that she is more than capable of doing..the only positive thing I can say is that my oldest teen who will be 18 on monday and very typical..had me doing everything as well for her growing up and she does things herself now independently. Sarah is really getting into what ages kids are and what talents or things they can do..so I am using her thought process to remind her of things she can be doing all by herself..I dont want to guilt her but she seemed to skip that "I can do it by myself" stage and I am hoping it will click before she becomes an adult. I blame myself entirely...we both are a work in progress..it never ends:) Loved reading your stories..your a natural!
Thanks for sharing your life!
